Plan the call

Partner city

10:00 Buenos Aires

09:00 New York

Same day

New York is 1 h behind Buenos Aires on this date.

Both at work: 10:00 to 18:00 in Buenos Aires, 09:00 to 17:00 in New York.

Working hours, 24 hours of Buenos Aires

Working hours are 9:00 to 18:00 on both sides. The box marks your time.

Say it in English

  • Does 9 am your time work?
  • How about 9 am New York time? That is 10 am for me in Buenos Aires.
  • Could we meet at 10 am Buenos Aires time? That should be 9 am for you.

How to read it

The big number is the time in the other city for the Buenos Aires time you chose. If the day changes, it says so. Below, the bar shows the 24 hours of a Buenos Aires day: one row for each side and one for the hours when both are between 9:00 and 18:00.

Working hours of 9 to 18 are a common rule of thumb, not a law. Change your plan if your team works differently.

Why the gap changes during the year

Argentina keeps the same time all year (UTC-3). The US moves its clocks on the second Sunday of March and the first Sunday of November. Europe moves on the last Sunday of March and the last Sunday of October. So for a few weeks in March and in October or November, the gap with New York or Madrid is different from usual.

Mexico City, Bogota and Sao Paulo do not change their clocks now. The tool uses the rules for the date you choose, so check the exact day of a call near those weeks.

Questions

What is the time difference between Argentina and New York?
Two hours in the US winter (New York is behind) and one hour in the US summer. The change happens in March and November.
Does Argentina have daylight saving time?
No. Argentina keeps UTC-3 all year, so the gap changes when the other country moves its clocks.
Why is the gap with Europe different in March and October?
Europe and the US change their clocks on different dates, so for a few weeks the two gaps are not the usual ones.
How do I propose a time politely?
Give the time in their zone and offer a way out, for example: Does 10 am your time work? Use the lines the tool writes for you.
