Los phrasal verbs son uno de los mayores bloqueos para los argentinos que trabajan en inglés. No es que sean difíciles — es que los libros te enseñan los que nadie usa ("to put up with", "to get away with") y no te enseñan los que escuchás todos los días en reuniones y emails.
Esta lista es distinta. Son los 20 que realmente aparecen en el trabajo — reuniones, Slack, emails, videollamadas.
Phrasal verbs para reuniones y conversaciones
1. Follow up (on something)
Hacer un seguimiento de algo.
"I'll follow up on that after the call." "Can you follow up with the client?"
Uno de los más usados en cualquier trabajo. Lo vas a escuchar en cada reunión.
2. Bring up
Mencionar o introducir un tema.
"I wanted to bring up the budget issue before we close." "She brought up a really good point."
3. Wrap up
Terminar o concluir algo.
"Let's wrap up — we're almost out of time." "Can you wrap up the report by Friday?"
4. Touch base
Comunicarse brevemente para actualizar o coordinar.
"Let's touch base next week." "Just touching base to see how the project is going."
5. Check in (with someone)
Preguntar cómo va algo o cómo está alguien.
"I'll check in with the team tomorrow." "Can you check in on the delivery status?"
6. Run by / run something by someone
Compartir una idea para que alguien la evalúe.
"Let me run this by my manager first." "Can I run something by you really quick?"

7. Kick off
Empezar formalmente un proyecto o reunión.
"We'll kick off the project on Monday." "This meeting is to kick things off."
8. Set up
Organizar o preparar algo.
"Can you set up a call for Thursday?" "I'll set up the spreadsheet."
9. Take over
Asumir el control de algo.
"She's taking over the account next month." "Who's taking over while you're on vacation?"
10. Hand over / hand off
Pasar la responsabilidad de algo a otra persona.
"I'll hand over the project to you by end of week." "Let's do a proper handoff before I leave."
11. Break down
Dividir en partes más pequeñas, o analizar en detalle.
"Can you break down the costs?" "Let me break this down step by step."
12. Roll out
Lanzar o implementar algo gradualmente.
"We're rolling out the new feature next quarter." "The campaign rolled out last week."
13. Scale up / scale down
Aumentar o reducir la magnitud de algo.
"We need to scale up production." "They decided to scale down the team."

14. Get back to someone
Responder a alguien más tarde.
"I'll get back to you on that." "Can you get back to me by EOD?"
EOD = end of day. Muy usado.
15. Reach out
Contactar a alguien.
"Feel free to reach out if you have questions." "I'll reach out to the supplier today."
16. Look into
Investigar o analizar algo.
"I'll look into the issue and let you know." "Can someone look into why this is happening?"
17. Come up with
Generar una idea o solución.
"We need to come up with a plan." "She came up with a great solution."

18. Figure out
Entender o resolver algo.
"I'm trying to figure out what went wrong." "Did you figure out the technical issue?"
19. Deal with
Manejar o hacerse cargo de algo.
"I'll deal with the complaint." "We need to deal with this before the launch."
20. Move forward (with something)
Avanzar o continuar con algo.
"Let's move forward with option B." "Are we ready to move forward?"
Cómo aprenderlos de verdad
Memorizarlos no alcanza. La mayoría de la gente que "sabe" estos phrasal verbs no los usa en el momento porque nunca los practicó hablando.
Lo que funciona:
- Elegí 3 por semana. No los 20 de una. Tres.
- Escribí una oración propia con cada uno — de tu trabajo, de tu vida real.
- Usalos en la próxima reunión o email. Aunque te parezca raro al principio.
